So many of my clients and friends are craving a balanced life. I was at dinner with a friend of mine the other night – he spent most of his time on the phone, when he wasn’t actually on the phone he was checking emails or looking at it waiting for the next call. I didn’t value our time together at all and neither did he – how could he, he wasn’t there!
Some believe that the path to the metaphysical is the physical; that in order to feel the soul it is necessary to first embrace the body. But Teresa works as a prostitute in Amsterdam where for years one unrequited desire has burned beneath the surface of her numbed skin. She yearns to be touched in her soul by someone who has not first paid her to flesh-out a fantasy.
“The next 30 days are going to pass whether you like it or not, so why not think about something you have always wanted to try and give it a shot for the next 30 days?”
“I realized, ‘Oh my gosh! I’m having a stroke! I’m having a stroke!’ The next thing my brain says to me is, ‘Wow! This is so cool! How many brain scientists have the opportunity to study their own brain from the inside out?’”
When we talk about communication, there is one key thing to understand: you cannot NOT communicate. I know that’s a double negative. It’s purposeful. Let me repeat: you cannot NOT communicate.
